General Who is Wodu Media? Wodu Media is Peter Downie, a resident in Key West, Florida since 1999 and a designer working professionally since 2002. Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Peter moved to the US to pursue a dream of being a nightclub DJ. Under the moniker DJ Peter Worth his first foray into the graphic design world was the production of flyers for the various events he hosted in Key West, Florida. These graphics were well received and various business owners in Key West took notice and offered more graphic design work. Like wildfire the graphic design took over the DJing side of things completely and the rest as they say is history. Working with Wodu Media How do we get started? We will meet to discuss the direction in which we are going to take you project. At this initial meeting we will also discuss rates, projected hours, and completion timeline. To begin work an outline of your project I must have all the relevant text and images (if you are supplying them), and a retainer of 50%. The remaining 50% will be paid upon satisfactory completion of the work. How much is this going to cost? Rates upon request. Every project is unique and there is no absolute when it comes to a website or graphic design project. Jobs are billed by the hour, but Wodu Media also uses the "Two Thirds" rule to a certain extent in determining the cost and turnaround time for your project. Here's an example: YOU WANT: FAST TURNAROUND, HIGH QUALITY, GOOD PRICE. (You can pick two of the three) If your project requires overnight turnaround and high quality, it's not going to be cheap although it will still be reasonable. A high quality project with a good price will take more time. Lastly and unfavorably, fast turnaround and a good price can lead to lower quality and is not recommended. In all projects, the best factor of these three elements will be utilized to ensure that you get the best quality for a reasonable price. |

This provides three current copies of your work, and ensures that your information is secure. What software do you use? Design Process Could you explain the graphic design process? Wodu Media will create ideas based on the needs of your business and project. JPG or PDF proofs (your choice) of the initial work will be sent to you for your approval. As you look over these let me know what you like, and I will take this input and develop the art further. A second round of proofs will be emailed to you. When you are completely happy with the design I will add the final touches and polish the piece until it is ready to be unleashed on the public. Could you explain the web design process? Very similar to the graphic design process. A PDF or JPG proof will be supplied to you for each and every page. We will go back and forward with these graphics until you are completely happy. At this point I will take these page graphics and build the website with them. With this process there will be no surprises with your design and you know EXACTLY what you will be getting. Once you have approved these graphics and the site is built, making extensive changes will be time consuming. In this instance these additional hours will be billed above the existing scheme price as we will have to return to the beginning of the design process. |

We can ship on your account number with a variety of carriers. If you have special requests please do not hesistate to contact us. Call us and we will work with you to get your printing to you in a cost effective and timely manner. How Long Does Shipping Take? If you are located in Key West, Florida, UPS Ground shipping takes 1 day. Depending on your distance from the printing facility in Florida UPS Ground takes from 1 to 6 business days. What is the turnaround time? Generally speaking for high run jobs (ie, 5000 postcards) if you are printing with a UV coating the piece will arrive at your business with 3 days. If your printed goods do not require a UV coating, then it will take longer - up to 10 days. For smaller jobs such as stationary and signs each jobs a delivery timeline will be provided individually. What is the difference between UV and non-UV? UV and non-UV are abbreviations for the kinds of coating used on our paper. Here are some of the core differences and applications: UV (Ultraviolet Coating) is a clear liquid spread over the paper like ink and then cured instantly with ultraviolet light. UV coating gives more protection and sheen than either varnish or aqueous coating. Since it is cured with light and not heat, no solvents enter the atmosphere. This coating is the "laminate style" coating that you see on ultra high gloss magazine covers. Non-UV simply means that the only coating on the finished product is the natural coating of our Premium Grade 12PT. paper. Non-UV should be selected if you don't want your final peice to be extra glossy or if you are using the printed peice as a mailer in which you will need to have a printed indicia or printed address applied directly on the piece. What are your printing prices? Please call for custom quote. |
